For businesses

Verify referral attribution

Treat click collection, customer identification and sales reporting as separate checks.

Reviewed 27 October 2026

Use your current program terms for rates, eligibility and payment rules.

Inspect tracking health

Open Settings → Integrations. The tracking script, referral tracking, sales tracking, coupons and payout connections have separate sections. Review the script status for each intended landing page. A Script not found result means the installation has not been verified there.

Use the installation instructions generated for your own program. Do not copy an example program ID or another brand’s snippet. Keep private API keys out of browser code.

Test attribution in order

  1. Use a known test link assigned to a labelled test participant.
  2. Confirm its tag survives the final redirect.
  3. Confirm a click appears for the right program.
  4. Complete the authorized test sign-up or transaction.
  5. Confirm the customer and sale are tied to that click once.
  6. Check the resulting reward against the assigned plan.

Respect consent requirements and browser privacy controls. Do not disable security or consent protections to force a test to pass.

Check common attribution breaks

Check stripped query parameters, expired tracking windows, a later referral touch, different browsers or devices, missing customer identification, and a missing or duplicate sale event. Review approved cross-domain settings when a journey crosses domains; installing on one domain does not automatically verify another.

Choose one authoritative reporting route per event, or reconcile duplicate delivery explicitly. Do not import a sale merely because a chart looks empty.
